BARTONE HAS EARLY EXIT IN ATLANTA
COMMERCE, Ga. (April 29) -- Lucas Oil/Torco driver, Tony Bartone experienced a tough, but respectable loss to Robert Hight in the first round of eliminations at the 27th annual Summit Racing Equipment Southern Nationals when he ran a great elapsed time of 4.842 seconds, 319.07 mph to his opponent's time of 4.779 seconds, 321.96 mph.
Bartone arrived at eliminations after qualifying with a time of 4.792 seconds, 310.13 mph, which placed him in the No. 15 starting position.
Up next for the Jim Dunn-owned Lucas Oil Funny Car team will be the 11th annual O'Reilly Midwest Nationals at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill. on May 4 -- 6.
