Action Packed Week Ahead For World Wrestilng Federation Racing
COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 12, 2001) - Jerry Toliver and Tony Bartone, drivers for World Wrestling Federation Racing, have a busy week ahead of them in preparation for the Pontiac Excitement Nationals in Columbus, Ohio.
The highlight of the week will be the debut of the SmackDown/Jericho Pontiac Firebird, driven by Toliver. The unveiling of the new paint scheme will take place Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in the Toliver Racing pit area. "It is always exciting to unveil a new paint scheme, especially when the World Wrestling Federation produces such high quality art work for the bodies," said Toliver.
In addition to the SmackDown/Jericho debut, Toliver is scheduled to participate in the Pontiac Excitement press conference held at National Trail Raceway Park Wednesday at noon. Toliver and Bartone will also attend the Mac Tools Open House Wednesday afternoon before heading to the Dave Gill Pontiac/GMC promotion from 4- 7:00 p.m.
Before the first qualifying session on Friday afternoon, Toliver and Bartone will take part in the Service Managers Race where they will offer advice and instruction on driving down the quarter mile drag strip to Pontiac/General Motors employees.
"This event is for unique for Toliver Racing in that we have the opportunity to aid in the promotion of multiple sponsors as well as the National Hot Rod Association and the sport of drag racing," said Toliver. "Sponsors obviously play a major role when it comes to running a professional drag racing team. Toliver Racing is very fortunate to be associated with such high caliber companies as the World Wrestling Federation, General Motors, Mac Tools, Knights Inn, Prolong, Quaker State and Action Performance Companies. Without their support, we would not be able to run this team at the level it requires."
