Friday Summary

Jeg's trucks are ready to improve

During the first of the four scheduled qualifying sessions Mike Coughlin and his yellow and black Jeg's Chevy S-10 marched up to the No. 2 position. Mike ran a 7.661 at 175.59 mph.

"That is exactly how we wanted to start the weekend in front of the hometown crowd. It means a lot for Team Jeg's to do well and we have the largest cheering section at the track," explained Mike.

In the second session John ran a 7.704 at 173.45 mph. He ended up in the
No. 12 spot.

"We were just a little off on our set up during the first session. We know what we need to do to get this Jeg's Chevy S-10 back to the top of the qualifying order," said John.

In the second session both of the Jeg's Mail Order Chevy S-10's improved their qualifying times. Mike ran a 7.614 at 175.89 mph and landed in the No. 8 spot. John made crossed the beams at the finish line with a 7.648 at 177.11 mph and ended up in the No. 14 slot.

"The most important thing is that we improved our qualifying times. I did not get any data from my first run and that might have hurt us a little tuning my Chevy S-10 for the second session," explained Mike.

"We gained a lot of data on the track that will help us tomorrow when the conditions are expected to improve," said John.
