Last year, John Coughlin won his first NHRA event in a professional class in front of his hometown crowd. The winner's circle picture has been said to be the single largest winner's circle picture of last year. Since than John has shown that he has what it takes to be a competitive threat on raceday in NHRA's newest professional class.

"It doesn't get any better than winning your first professional NHRA race in front of a hometown crowd," explained John. "That was a day I will remember for the rest of my life!"

John enters the Pontiac Excitement Nationals as the defending Pro Stock Truck Champion. He is currently No. 4 in the NHRA Winston Drag Racing Championship with 371 points and is 111 points away from the No. 3 spot.

Mike Coughlin has shown a recent surge in performance. He has broken back into the top ten and is resting in the No. 8 spot with 287 points. Mike is 37 points away from the No. 7 position. A strong performance at his hometown track could boast him as high as the No. 5 sot in the NHRA Winston Drag Racing Championship.

"Our program has really gained a lot of momentum lately and we are a competitive threat to win at every race," commented Mike. "We will work toward having our first all-JEG'S final in Pro Stock Truck in front of our hometown fans!"

The teams recent resurgence in performance and desire to do well at their home track is a powerful combination. Look for big things out of this camp when they roll through the gates at National Trail Raceway to begin battle on the quarter mile battlefield.
