WEAR THE NEWNESS OFF!

Concord, N.C. is home to the newest drag strip on the NHRA circuit. Owned by Bruton Smith, the track is already gaining a reputation for being smooth as silk and state of the art.

Tom Hammonds (THE's Owner/Driver) -"It's good to be back in Charlotte again. I really enjoyed my stay here during my basketball days. It is good to see some old friends."

Hammonds -"I remember going to Shuffletown when I had an off day from basketball. Although Shuffletown is closed, this track is in the spirit of what Bruton Smith's tracks represent and what Shuffletown represented. I wish I could have been able to come to this track back then to race. I am really excited to compete on the zMax track."

Hammonds - "Our hope for the inaugural NHRA Carolinas Nationals is to run just as good as we did in Indy. Though we did not qualify, the Chevy Cobalt ran the best it has ever run. If this happens here, then we have a good shot at qualifying."
