PERKINSON GOES TESTING, LOOKING TO MAKE UP GROUND IN GAINESVILLE WITH GCPAY™ ON BOARD
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Mar. 10, 2011)- Buddy Perkinson, the 19-year-old Pro Stock driver from Prince George, Va., and Cunningham Motorsports experienced their second batch of testing this past week in preparation for the Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla. Perkinson will be sponsored by GCPay.com, a leading online service provider in the construction industry.
The entire Cunningham Motorsports team was more than happy to qualify in the number 12 position in Pomona, Calif. for the Winternationals, Feb. 24-27. Following a first round loss due to engine issues, the decision was made to undergo a second trip to Bradenton, Fla. for testing.
Perkinson says that the team learned a lot about the car and made necessary changes. Testing is always a huge part of working out the kinks and will surely pay off this coming weekend for both Cunningham Motorsports as well as new sponsor for the Gainesville race, GCPay™.

Larger clients include State Governments such as the State of Virginia, State of Montana and the Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission. They are also working with the Federal General Services Administration in Fort Pierce Florida.
The Cunningham Motorsports team, lead by 10-time Pro Stock World Champion, Bob Glidden, is excited to give it another go this weekend and is looking for their first round win. This will be Perkinson’s second Pro Stock event.
“When we began testing this past week, we had one of our slower motors in the car. We made some changes in hopes that we could eliminate a lot of the tire shake issues we were having and figure out which carburetors were better. We had several different things we wanted to try just to see what worked and what didn’t. Our initial plan was to really test a lot with that motor and basically test out all of our problems on it,” said Perkinson.
“We made several full passes this week and made numerous changes. Sometimes the numbers don’t show it, but when all's said and done, we learned more of what we needed to know to really be competitive at the NHRA Gatornationals this week.”
“We still didn’t run our best stuff, but even so, we gathered a lot of data and we’re pretty content with our tune-up for this weekend in Gainesville. We will have guests from GCPay™ supporting us and we’re really looking for that first round win,” he added.
First round of Pro Stock qualifying will begin at noon on Friday.
