In the third round of qualifying, Whisnant would make his best pass of the weekend, a 7.713 / 174.59 mph, which would not be good enough for him to assume one of the two open qualifying spots.

"We tried a new clutch this weekend," said Whisnant. "We should have gone and tested before we came here, but we didn't have time. I wish we had because I would have really liked to race here.

"We put our old clutch back in for the last session. We wasted two runs yesterday, and you can't do that in this class. You need every round. When we put our old clutch back in that essentially put us back to our baseline St. Louis tune-up. By that time we where out of runs. I am really disappointed to not be racing tomorrow.

"We have a six week break before Indy. We plan on doing a lot of testing and going to a couple match races before we go there. We need to do that to be prepared for the US Nationals. I am determined to make Indy a great race for this RW Performance team."

The next stop for the Pro Stock Trucks will be the US Nationals Aug. 30 - Sept. 4, in Indianapolis.
