BRISTOL TENN. (April 27) - Larry Dixon and the Miller Lite Dragster posted a second round finish Sunday at the 3rd Annual Mac Tools Thunder Valley Nationals. The team was able to bounce back despite a severe accident that happened on Saturday during the 4th final round of qualifying.

Dixon entered Sunday as the No. 2 qualifier, but lacked the benefit of a smooth qualifying experience. The Miller Lite team worked through the night in order to prepare the new car after the Saturday night accident.

"It just let's everyone else know just how great our team is," said Dixon. "That they can prepare a car like that overnight, that's never been run and that runs exactly like the old one."

The new car showed signs of the old car, when overcoming Don Lampus in the first round with a pass of 4.600 seconds (321.27mph). With the win, Dixon's career record against Lampus improved to 4-1.

But Dixon and the Don Prudhomme Miller Lite Dragster saw their day end early after a second round match up with Jim Head (5.191ET/280.40mph). The dragster slowed under track conditions and ended the day with a lap of 6.456 seconds (190.73mph).

The Miller Lite team will travel to Indy where they will pick up a spare car, before arriving Atlanta Georgia for the 23rd Annual Summit Racing Equiptment NHRA Southern Nationals, May 1-4th.
