Anderson qualifies second in Bristol.

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Greg Anderson, driver of the Vegas General Construction Pontiac Grand Am, will start tomorrow's 3rd annual Mac Tools Thunder Valley Nationals from the second position on the Pro Stock eliminations ladder.

In the last session of qualifying, Anderson ran a 6.864 / 200.44 mph, to secure the Number 2 position. When eliminations get underway Sunday morning, Anderson will meet Number 15 qualifier Taylor Lastor.

"It looks like Number 2 is going to be a pretty good place to start this race from," said Anderson of Charlotte, NC. "I'm not saying that it is an easy place to start from, because anytime you can get into the field, it is a real accomplishment.

"Tonight we will turn our attention towards tomorrows race. This is my sponsors' race. Mac Tools has been very good to us, so it is very important that we do well here. We would like to thank them for all their support by giving them a win here on Sunday.

"Tonight we will take some extra time to make sure everything is right. If I don't make any mistakes and the car runs like I know it can; tomorrow night we could be standing in the winner's circle here in Bristol."

Eliminations at the 3rd annual Mac Tools Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tenn., will begin at 12:00 AM EST on Sunday April 27.
