JEGS.com Dragster Qualifies 11th

BRISTOL, Tenn., July 7, 2007 -- Cory McClenathan drove the special edition JEGS.com Top Fuel dragster to the 11th starting position for Sunday's O'Reilly Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway.

Crew chief Wes Cerny and assistant crew chief Tony Shortall had to deal with a hot, slippery race track that reached 130 degrees and more during Saturday's qualifying. McClenathan's best run of 4.659 seconds at 316.15 mph came on his first run Friday afternoon. He meets Doug Herbert (4.611 at 318.39) in the opening round.

"These were the hottest conditions we've had this season and the track was tricky," said McClenathan. "We hope to continue our good luck running the JEGS.com car Sunday. When we ran it last year at Columbus (Ohio), we were runner-up."
