The Race Girl Top Fueler wanted to make the NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals 6 first round wins in a row. Darrell Russell had other ideas, with a slight advantage off the line and the help of a lost cylinder at half track Russell ended Scott Weis' birthday. Scott said " I felt the motor going about half track and I just couldn't catch Darrell. WE have to be easy on our equipment as the budget we operate from does not allow us to change motors after every round. We are trying to be consistent and usually that pays dividends in the first round but not today."

Scott went on to say that he had hoped they would go into the US Nationals as a member of the elite top ten in points. " We will have to do better in Indy, our hope is to head back east to Reading in the top ten- We'll see."

Robert Chestnut, team manager and CEO of Race Girl stated "We are really determined to show the rest of the field that a limited budgeted team can break into the elite "TOP TEN" on Top Fuel. We are really looking forward to Indy as we will unveil a new car with a great new paint theme for Race Girl."
