WHAT: The 25th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, the 16th of 23 events in the $50 million NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. Professional competitors in four categories earn points leading to the 2006 NHRA POWERade championships.

Sportsman competitors in six categories earn points leading to the 2006 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series championships.

WHERE: Brainerd International Raceway and Resort, Brainerd, Minn. Track is located a few miles north of the Brainerd area off Highway 371. The track is located on the east side of the highway.

WHEN: Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 10-13.

PURSE: Cash and contingency awards of more than $1.5 million.

SCHEDULE:

THURSDAY, Aug. 10
Sportsman qualifying and time trials begin at 10 a.m.

FRIDAY, Aug. 11
Sportsman qualifying and eliminations begin at 9:15 a.m.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 2:45 and 5:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, Aug. 12
Sportsman eliminations begin at 9:15 a.m.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.

SUNDAY, Aug. 13
Pre-race ceremonies, 10 a.m.

FINAL ELIMINATIONS begin at 11 a.m.

TELEVISION:

Saturday, Aug. 12, ESPN2 will televise two hours of qualifying highlights at 6 p.m. (ET).

Sunday, Aug. 13, ESPN2 will televise three hours of eliminations at 7 p.m. (ET).

Sunday, Aug. 13, ESPN2 will televise NHRA 2Day, a 30-minute weekly news magazine show, at 11:30 a.m. (ET).

2005 EVENT WINNERS: Doug Kalitta, Top Fuel; Eric Medlen, Funny Car; Kurt Johnson, Pro Stock; GT Tonglet, Pro Stock Motorcycle.

Sunday: Adult, $55; Child (6-12 years), $27. Children 5 years and under, free in general admission and pit areas each day.

RESERVED SEATS (includes pit pass) --Saturday: Adult, $75; Child (6-12 years), $47. Sunday: Adult, $85; Child (12 years and under), $57.
