BAYTOWN, Texas (March 31) -- Persistent rains prevailed at the 20th annual O'Reilly Spring Nationals at Houston Raceway Park causing the cancellation of the last two qualifying runs on Saturday.

Morgan Lucas will take his No. 4 starting position on the quick quarter-mile and will race David Grubnic in the first round of eliminations. Lucas assumed that place after his evening run of 4.538 seconds, 305.49 mph. The last time Lucas raced Grubnic was the first round at the 2006 Auto Club Finals in Pomona, Ca. In overall match ups, Lucas and Grubnic have raced each other 10 times in National event competition and are tied with five round wins a piece.

As a note, this will be the second time Lucas has qualified this high for his own team since its inception of December of 2005 (06 Gainesville, 07 Houston).

"Once I get my act together on the starting line, thing will be great," said Lucas. "Last year, one way or another, when the car was on, I was off and when the car was off, I was on. This year it seems to be easier to put the two together. So, tomorrow we race David Grubnic, who is a great driver and racer. Those guys over there work very hard and it should be a great first round race and we'll see what we can do."

The forecast for Sunday is very promising with clear skies expected and a high around 82 degrees.

ESPN2 is airing the final round results beginning at 4 p.m. EDT on Sunday, April 1.
