Bradshaw & Meyer set sights on Earlville

EARLVILLE, Iowa - Defending Division 5 Top Alcohol Dragster Champion Alan Bradshaw and car owner/tuner Randy Meyer have their sights set on this weekend's Division 5 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series finale at Tri-State Raceway in Earlville, Iowa. The team was qualified No. 3 at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals last weekend, but heavy and persistent rains forced that race to be postponed until this weekend. Faced with the hard choice, the team elected to fight for the Division 5 Championship this weekend in Earlville.

Bradshaw, a practicing chiropractor in Odessa, Texas, notes it was a hard decision to leave a chance to win the biggest race in all of drag racing, but feels the move is the best for both their division and world championship hopes.

"It was tough to leave Indy," said Bradshaw. "I think we had just as good a shot as anyone to win that race, and it's a real bummer that it was rained out. The rain reeks havoc on everyone's schedule, and it was no exception in our case. Our goal from day one on this team was to win the Division 5 and World Championship, and the fact of the matter is, if we don't go to Earlville, we give the Division Championship to David [Wells]. A win there would also help our National Championship hopes by giving us some more points in the divisional column. This is our last divisional event we can claim, so we have to make the most of it."

The team is also excited to be racing on Tri-State Raceway's all-concrete racing surface.

"Earlville is one of the best divisional facilities out there," stated Bradshaw. "It's an all concrete track, has nice pits, and they treat you real well there. There's also a lot of fan support there, so it's just a fun race to go to. Hopefully with an all concrete track we'll be able to throw this Randy Meyer horsepower to it and come away with a win for our sponsors 1-888-CAR WRECK, Go-DragRacing.com, MAR Leasing, Valvoline, Fram, Aeroquip, Meyer Truck Center and Bradshaw Chiropractic Center."

Qualifying begins on Friday with two more sessions on Saturday. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday. Stay tuned to InsideTopAlcohol.com for the latest news in alcohol racing.
