PartyPoker.it will be the main sponsor of the Auto GP championship. While it isn't
unexpected news, as everybody was speaking about it in the paddock talks, the official
confirmation of the sponsorship is the icing on the Auto GP cake, another step towards an
incredibly high level programme that, from April 24 on, will see drivers fighting wheel to wheel
on 550 bhp cars in order to win the unprecedented 1.200.000 euros prize. Furthermore,
thanks to the support from PartyPoker.it, Auto GP will be on air on the most important
European broadcasters and is negotiating an F.1 test for the Series winner.
So, besides the richest prize in European motorsport history, drivers will have another really
good reason to push their talent and will to win to the maximum, beating their rivals on track.
Anyway, the prizes aren't the only interesting parts of Auto GP: at a glance, the Series offers
the faster single seater in Europe apart F.1 and GP2, the most powerful engine with a
staggering 550 bhp, and a true international environment. The calendar will indeed touch six
venues in five different countries, starting in Brno (CZ), and then racing in Imola (I), Spa-
Francorchamps (B), Magny-Cours (F), Navarra (E) and Monza (I), from 25th April to 3rd
October. The same international appeal will be granted by a great entry list boasting 10 teams
from Italy, Spain, France, Great Britain and Czech Republic, including three well established
GP2 outfits like DAMS, SuperNova and Trident Racing.
With such premises, the Series could only be a success and this has been confirmed by the
huge interest from media and drivers. The series has recently announced a new entry, the
talented Spaniard Celso Miguez, who will complete the RP Motorsport line-up racing alongside
Stefano Bizzarri. This means that at this moment, Auto GP has just four spots still available on
its grid.
Enzo Coloni, Auto GP General Manager: "When in Italy you say PartyPoker.it, people thinks
about their testimonials, people such as F.1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella and a great soccer
talent like Francesco Totti. Those are names renowned all around the world, and now Auto GP
stands besides them. We are very proud of PartyPoker.it understanding what kind of top-notch
championship we are creating here at Auto GP, and their support is a real boost for us".
PartyPoker.it spokesman Daniele Nauri: "We are delighted that PartyPoker.it has become the
presenting sponsor of Auto GP. With Giancarlo Fisichella already in our paddock as a team
member and brand ambassador we are committed to firming our motor sport ties and
searching for new raw talent. We already have football poker tournaments online thanks to
the testimonial from Francesco Totti but in the near future we will also be introducing poker
tournaments and promotions that tie in to our big interest in Auto GP and F1 - so watch this
space".
