Gomersall "seeks" Bradbury for V8 Ute Legend Race

Winter Olympic Gold Medalist Steven Bradbury will drive with fellow Queenslander Jason Gomersall in the V8 Utes - 10 years of Legends races at the Clipsal 500, Adelaide Parklands 12 – 14 March 2010.

The Legends event will feature a two driver format and combine with the first round of the 2010 Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series – protected by Armor All.

Each legend will get a practice, qualifying and race in their own right, with the finale featuring a longer race and driver change mid race.

The V8 Utes have raced at Clipsal every year since their inception and Category Manager Bill West believes there isn't a more fitting way to celebrate than at the inaugural track.

"The series launched at the Clipsal 500 in 2001 and we're excited to be working with Chief Executive Jason Allen, and Motorsport Manager Jeff Mattner and the SA Motor Sports Board to do something special for our 10th year ," said West.

Bradbury and iseek racings, Gomersall are the first confirmed two driver team for the legends event and the former Formula Vee rivals are looking forward to gearing up in a team format.

"I have only raced at Clipsal once before but it's one of the best tracks. The atmosphere is fantastic. I'm really looking forward to driving with Steve, we have raced against each other for a few years now and it will be great to share a drive," said the current 2009 V8 Utes Racer Industries Rookie of the Year contender.

Apart from Formula Vee, the Order of Australia Medalist, Bradbury also drove in this year's MINI Challenge Series where he finished tenth overall.

"I love the V8 Utes. I can't wait to have a drive at Clipsal. Jason and I have scheduled some practice sessions in the lead-up to the race so we hope to have a good battle on the streets of Adelaide," said Bradbury.

The 10 Years of Legends format will feature touring car legends, sports legends, V8 Ute legends (such as former series winners Warren Luff, Damien White and Marcus Zukanovic,) plus bike legends and hopefully movie/music legends.

Other drivers approached to join the Legends concept include Mark Skaife, Brad Jones, Glenn Seton, Allan Grice and former Touring car legend Andrew Miedecke amongst others.
