PSL KARTING READIES WITH FULL TENT FOR SKUSA SUPERNATIONALS XIII
Canadian CRG importer stacks the deck against the rest of the competition
for Vegas
TROIS-RIVIERES, QC (November 16, 2009) -- The end of the 2009 year is
approaching and with the weather turning from Fall to Winter conditions
soon in the Quebec area, the PSL Karting team will begin its winter-long
journey south to the United States. The first stop of the winter schedule
for the Trois-Rivieres-based outfit will be the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XIII
outside the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Canadian
importer for CRG products will have 22 drivers from around the world
under the PSL Karting banner for the event, contesting five different
divisions.
"The drivers we have assembled for this year's SuperNationals are
amazing," commented PSL Karting's team manager Stephan St. Charles.
"All of our drivers will be aboard the latest CRG chassis and
components, ensuring they will be on the best equipment out there in
karting. Our association with the CRG factory has allowed us to bring
over some of the best drivers into our tent to run alongside our North
American stars."
Highlighting the PSL Karting roster will be the addition of reigning
World Karting Champion Arnaud Kozlinski. The native Frenchman will be
part of the factory CRG Racing Team contingent that will travel from
Europe to Las Vegas to compete in the SuperPro category. Kozlinski was
with the PSL squad one year ago however a wreck during the heat races
resulted in a broken collar bone. Now with the world crown, Kozlinski is
hoping to make it three for three at the SuperNats for world champions
scoring the victory at the SuperNats. Fritz Leesmann will run alongside
Kozlinski. The Californian ran 10th in last year's event and is one of
the top Americans competing in this year's edition. New York's Matt
Lee, Colorado's Ben Schermerhorn and Florida's Matthew Mair complete
the remaining USA drivers. Quebec pilots that will fly PSL colors are
Olivier Sirois, Etienne Lasalle and Dominic Legrand. Sirois earned his
trip thanks to earning the championship in the Vega Cup.
Aside from Kozlinski, two other drivers from the factory CRG Racing Team
will be under the PSL Tent. Eddy Tinini and Brandon Maisano will contest
the new KF2 division in Vegas. Tinini has enjoyed competing in the United
States in the past and will join PSL for the first time. Maisano was
sixth in the KF2 World Cup and should be a contender for the win at the
SuperNationals.
The largest division of the event is the TaG Senior category with 80
drivers total competing for the victory. PSL Karting will have four
drivers contesting the class - led by former world champion Pier-Luc
Ouellette. The former DD2 world champ and '07 Rotax Senior
SuperNationals winner will return to the Vegas event in hopes of a second
victory. Brother Hugo - the reigning Canadian Nationals Rotax Senior
champion - will run alongside thanks to his Vega Cup championship earning
a trip from CKEQ to compete in Vegas. American Miles Maroney will make
his second TaG Senior start after making the main event last year and
Jose Peppe DeLa Garza will make his first appearance in Vegas.
Just like the SuperPro category, the PSL squad has a solid chance at
victory in the G1 category. Florida's Doug Cox is considered one of the
contenders to earn the victory after a solid campaign during the Florida
Winter Tour earlier this year. Michel Legrand and Daniel Nadeau will also
be among the contenders after a solid season in Quebec regional racing
with western Canadian driver Daryl Redlin joining the squad in Vegas.
Four Junior drivers for PSL will contest the popular TaG Junior division.
Montreal Cup champion Jesse Lazare will join three Americans - Sabre Cook
(Colorado), Jake Craig (California) and Adrian Starrantino (California).
All have an equal shot at running at the front of the field.
