OVERDRIVE MOTORSPORTS SET FOR SKUSA SUPERNATIONALS
"Canadian team to enter four drivers"
November 15, 2009 -- The North American importer of the PCR chassis
line is set to contest in the 13th annual Superkarts! USA (SKUSA)
SuperNationals taking place at the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino in Las
Vegas, Nevada. With drivers entered in TaG Junior, S3 and KF2, Overdrive
Motorsports will look to bring SuperNats glory home north of the border.
Competing in KF2 will be senior front runner and Rotax standout Tyler
Wheeler. The Canadian pilot has years of experience in competition by
racing at the Rotax Max World Finals on three different occasions as well
as multiple race wins and championships in Western Canada. This will be
Wheeler's first battle in a KF2 machine but multiple days of
testing with tuner Joey Guyon has seen the talented pilot get up to speed
quickly. Wheeler will battle with some of the world's best 100cc
pilots as he looks to run at the pointy end of the field.
Overdrive Motorsports will enter two drivers in the TaG Junior divisions
as Emily Maddison and Austin King are set to battle with 64 other
competitors. Maddison has been tearing up the junior ranks in Calgary by
claiming the past two Calgary Kart Racing Clubs Rotax Junior
championships and becoming the first female to win a championship in club
history. With great success on her Rotax package, Maddison will work with
tuner Clayton Snow and look to carry the momentum over to the Leopard
package.
2009 saw Canadian pilot Austin King enjoy his first year of regional
competition. King travelled to both the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas
as well as the Western Canadian Championships where he scored his
strongest results of the year. With two podiums and a third place result
in the title chase, King will look to battle in the front half of the TaG
Junior field in Sin City as he work's with Ontario's Kyle
Herder.
Overdrive Motorsports' final competitor will be Jake Thompson, who
last saw SuperNationals action back in 2005. Thompson, who was the
'04 Intercontinental C Canadian National Champion, has been honing
his skills behind the wheel of a race car as he claimed the fifth
position in the Volkswagon Jetta TDI championship scoring two wins.
Thompson is no stranger to the sport of karting as the former
Intercontinental C and Rotax front runner will do battle in the S3
division below the shadows of the Rio. Thompson will work with former
karter Joel Peterson in their search for a SuperNationals podium.
"This year the odkarts.com factory team has entered its top drivers
along with up-coming talent," stated Overdrive Motorsports'
Joey Guyon. "We are all excited and well prepared for battle - the
atmosphere will be electric!"
