Brad Keselowski to Start 35th on Sunday Afternoon at TMS
Ft. Worth, Tex. (November 6, 2009) -- Brad Keselowski will make his debut
behind the wheel of the No.12 Penske Dodge Charger on Sunday afternoon
starting from the 35th spot.
Keselowski and the No.12 Penske Dodge Charger team had an hour and a half
practice session on Friday afternoon to get their car dialed in. The team
was confident they had a strong car and it showed on the speed chart.
Keselowski radioed to crew chief Roy McCauley explaining the car was just a
tick loose at both ends of the speedway. The No. 12 Penske Dodge crew went
to work making a couple of small adjustments to the front end geometry to
help the car rotate through the banked turns. By the end of practice, Brad
Keselowski felt like he had a car capable of running up front on Sunday
afternoon finishing up ninth on the timing and scoring monitor.
In the afternoon qualifying session, Keselowski was the eighth car to roll
off to make a qualifying attempt at the Great American Speedway. He wheeled
the No.12 Penske Dodge around the Texas Motor Speedway running a time of
28.754 seconds which put him on the inside of the 18th row for the start of
Sunday's 500-mile showdown.
"The car felt really good," commented Brad Keselowski after his qualifying
effort. "I feel like I drove a really good lap and was really surprised
that we did not run faster than we did. Today has gone really smooth. We
had a really productive day. I am looking for more of the same tomorrow to
get our Penske Dodge dialed in for Sunday's 334-lap race."
