BRITAIN: BEST IN THE WORLD ON AND OFF TRACK
Britain is the world centre of motorsport, and this year its companies
produced a Formula One World Champion in Jenson Button and
constructors' winner in Brawn GP. They are just two of the winners
from a GBP6 billion industry of which GBP3.6 billion is exported.
But it's not just driving and engineering where Britain excels. A
prime example of British motorsport talent was evident at the final Grand
Prix of the season in Abu Dhabi, where more than 350 British marshals,
who are often regarded as the best in the world, were in attendance.
