Sam Hornish Jr. on Texas Motor Speedway
"This is one of my favorite weekends on the schedule because I get
to host a charity bowling tournament in conjunction with Speedway
Children's Charities. This will be the fifth year for the
tournament, which started during my IndyCar Series days and, to date, we
have raised over $400,000 for the children of north Texas. It's a
fun night for a great cause and we look forward to seeing everyone there.
"As for the race, the biggest thing that I've learned about
racing in Texas is that you have to be patient during the first 75% of
the race in order to be on the lead lap near the end. Also, you
don't want to go too quick too early as tire wear falls off and you
may find yourself racing to stay on the lead lap."
Crew Chief Travis Geisler on Texas Motor Speedway
"Texas Motor Speedway is known as one of the fastest tracks on the
circuit. Drivers need to be alert and have quick responses in case
something happens on track. The track surface has gotten better over time
and creates some great racing. Although this No. 77 team has been strong
at intermediate tracks overall, we still feel there is some room for
growth on the 1.5-mile ovals. We hope to have a solid run this weekend
and build on our intermediate program for 2010."
