Gary Paffett, winner of the last DTM race in Zandvoort on 19 July 2009
and current leader in the championship. In addition, Paffett was the
first driver who won a DTM race with a year old car in Oschersleben in
2007:
"Naturally, I'm very pleased to come to Oschersleben with the lead
position. With two victories with the 2009 C-Class and Jamie
Green's victory in the 2008 car in four previous races, we worked
hard on our additional 'field pack' of 20 kilogrammes. A
victory won't be easy here - but I hope for a good race, though. As we
all know, the DTM is full of surprises."
Ralf Schumacher, who, after Zandvoort, has hopes for the race in
Oschersleben:
"Oschersleben won't be easy for us. In the truest sense of the word
we are weight handicapped, but that doesn't mean that we should hang our
heads and get depressed. Quite the opposite - perhaps we'll actually
achieve a good result this time."
Bruno Spengler, who ended the 2008 DTM race in Oschersleben in 3rd place
and was the highest ranking driver with an AMG Mercedes C-Class:
"I simply don't think about the additional weight. Our C-Class is
good and when I find the right setup with my team I can still be a proper
contender."
Norbert Haug:
"After two victories in a row and having won three of the last four
DTM races, we have determined by the regulations, to put up with an
additional weight of 20 kg with the 2009 C-Class, which amounts to
three-and-a-half tenths per lap on the track in Oschersleben. Winning
will be difficult there, but we still want to perform well."
