New Jersey Motorsports Park Hires General Manager of Karting Facility
Millville, N.J. (April 23, 2009) - New Jersey Motorsports Park announced
today the hiring of Scott Paape as General Manager of F1 New Jersey, the
world-class Millville, N.J. karting facility.
Paape will oversee all aspects of the karting operations, from the arrive
and drive programs in the F1 New Jersey rental karts to the top-level WKA
and Stars of Karting races on the 1.1-mile track.
"I couldn't be happier to join the staff and team at New Jersey
Motorsports Park," Paape said. "F1 New Jersey has the infrastructure and
the potential to be the unquestioned best karting facility in the United
States, and our goal is to continue to move the facility in that
direction."
The 42-year-old Paape comes to New Jersey Motorsports Park following five
years as the General Manager of USA International Raceway in Shawano,
Wisc. During his time at USA International, Paape helped transform the
track into one of the premier karting facilities in the Midwest.
"We're very pleased that Scott will be joining our management team at New
Jersey Motorsports Park," said Kevin Wittman, New Jersey Motorsports Park
General Manager. "As host for countless WKA, Rotax, Stars of Karting,
supermoto, and motocross events, Scott has developed a reputation for
active and effective management of complex karting operations. He is
passionate about the sport and will put into place tested practices and
procedures that will help develop F1 New Jersey into the world-class
facility we are all committed to seeing."
Under Paape, F1 New Jersey will continue its relationship with sister
track F1 Boston - owned by New Jersey Motorsports Park principal RJ
Valentine.
"Scott's past work is exactly what we were looking for to guide F1 New
Jersey," said Valentine, who won the GT class of the 2009 Rolex 24 at
Daytona driving the No. 67 TRG Porsche. "From our arrive and drive
program and corporate outings to our top-level race events, Scott has
experience. We're looking forward to him taking charge of our karting
operations at New Jersey Motorsports Park."
