Great fight for the lead! Kankkunen is again on the lead but El Matador is trying hard. Didier Auriol rolled when trying to catch up with them and is now 4th. Pavel Sibera A/F2 Skoda Felicia +1:47 Petr Gross 4? Emil Triner A/F2 Skoda Felicia +2:32 Pavel Stanc The Toyotas begun very well, profiting from the fact that the ground was very wet (it rained all weekend) and so the lack of power relatively to the Subarus was less noticeable. Now Sainz has got the lead (on the last stage of the day). So he will is opening the road today, which might not be good for him. On the third stages Delecour rolled and had to retire on the fifth. One of the best Portuguese drivers Jose' Macedo, who should be trying for the first place in F2, was delayed because of a gear box blocked in 4th gear. Then he and the other Renault driver both retired. It was really not a good idea to race 2 cars that were assembled last week. Isolde Holderied was also delayed by mechanical problems. An Italian driver (Andrea Navarre?) who had a high number (40) is doing very well, and was at a time 3rd in groupe N. Now he has lost some time and Isolde is again third. All the F2 favorits have had problems. de Mevius is still on the race but delayed. I _think_ he is again in second place. Today the rallye restarted at 8:30, for 10 stages, ending at 20:30. The first stage is a spectacle stage at Lousada. -- .pt is Portugal| `Whom the gods love die young'-Menander (342-292 BC) Europe | Villeneuve 50-82, Toivonen 56-86, Senna 60-94 -- `NT is the DOS of the next century.
