Petropoulos taking a "Hands On" approach in his racing career

While race teams ranging from NASCAR's Winston Cup Series to its Weekly Racing Series nationwide begin to misfire as the summer doldrums set in, Peter Petropoulos and the No. 28 Battle Builders, Inc Pro Late Model team are hitting on all cylinders each Saturday at Lanier National Speedway near Atlanta.

After recently capturing three poles and one victory, the 24-year old Petropoulos is considered one of the favorites to win each time his No. 28 pulls through the gates. He has a marketable smile, yet isn't afraid to get grease under his finger nails.

"I don't believe in letting everyone else do the work so I get in there and work on it too," Petropoulos said after he assisted his team in post race tech last Saturday at Lanier moments after he finished second in the evening's feature race.

"I learned a lot when they built that motor and I actually helped them build it. I just want to be part of it when they take it apart."

Petropoulos hopes to visit the "room of doom" at Lanier again this Saturday, only this time going through post race tech with the winning trophy sitting on the roof of his Chevrolet.
