Scottsdale, AZ (January 29, 2001) -- James B. O'Kane, principal of Triton Realty Advisors, today announced the inception of his team, Triton Realty Motorsports in their inaugural 2001 NASCAR Winston West Series season has hired up and coming driver Ross Thompson.

"I started this team because I love speed. I have always been interested in racing, but after attending my first NASCAR Winston Cup race in 1996 at Texas Motor Speedway, and driving myself I knew I wanted to go racing. After looking into several programs, I decided NASCAR Winston West had everything I was looking for in a series," said O'Kane. "I met Ross and right away I knew he had to drive for us. He has a solid racing foundation with a championship potential."

Thompson, 26, of Phoenix, has been tagged as the one to watch in the world of NASCAR racing. Just last year while running a limited season, Thompson captured his first NASCAR victory in the Featherlite Southwest Series at Pikes Peak International Raceway after qualifying 2nd. This year with full commitment of Triton Realty Motorsports to run the entire Winston West Series, Thompson looks forward on focusing his efforts on winning a championship.

Thompson began his racing career as a teenager instructing at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. He then graduated through the ranks the SCCA Sports 2000 and Formula 2000 series, where he quickly began to amass victories and track records. This led to rides in Professional Sports Car racing, IMSA Endurance and the CSK American Race Truck series. Since then his professional racing career has included everything from sedans and race trucks to sports racers and open-wheel formula cars collecting victories and podium-finishes along the way. In 1998, Thompson proved to be a top contender in the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series capturing two podiums and four top-five finishes, wrapping up the season 6th overall in the championship point standings.

His career continued to take shape when he ran in a limited number of races in the Winston West and Craftsman Truck Series in 1999. Driving the Roush-prepared Action Performance goracing.com Fords provided Thompson with the experience to compete on short tracks, road courses, and super-speedways.

Following his dream of becoming a team owner, O'Kane founded Triton Realty Motorsports. A newly formed team, based in Scottsdale, Arizona brings more than 30 years of combined motorsports experience to the series. The team features a three-time championship-winning crew chief, John Carlson, a full time staff of race car preparation experts, a state-of-the-art shop facility, and a team owner who is dedicated to winning a championship.

Although racing is his passion, O'Kane does have a "day job." He is the principal of Triton Realty Advisors, a fully integrated real estate investment company with offices in Scottsdale and Winter Park, Florida, specializing in the acquisition, redevelopment and management of multifamily, retail, office, and industrial properties.

Triton Realty Motorsports is clearly positioned to be a front-running team in the 2001 NASCAR Winston West Series. Round one of fourteen of the 2001 NASCAR Winston West Series will commence at Phoenix International Raceway February 3rd and 4th for the NASCAR Winter Heat race.
