North Highlands, Calif. -- Phil Dugan and Rob Dixon's RTD Motorsports finished 17th at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT on Saturday in the NASCAR Camping World Series West event on the sprawling road course.

Dugan started out the weekend with a lost transmission in the first practice session. He recovered to qualify 18th out of 26 cars for the 125 mile event.

Dugan guided the #34 Drive for Diversity / Oregon Tool & Supply Chevrolet through the pack and avoided trouble. After two unscheduled pit stops, Dugan earned back-to-back lucky dog awards.

When the race was completed, the 21 year-old driver from Meridian, ID had a 17th place finish. He was scored with 40 laps completed out of 41.

With the third road course race of the season in the books, RTD Motorsports and the rest of the NASCAR Camping World Series West will prepare for Colorado National Speedway in Dacono, CO on August 15.

"The road courses are fun, but I'm glad to get back to oval racing," Dugan said. "We're bringing our circle track car back to Colorado in search of my first top-10 of the season."
