JASON BOWLES 'EM OVER IN CAMPING WORLD WEST VICTORY

VENTURA, Calif. (April 20, 2009) -- When opportunity knocked Jason Bowles muttered a quick 'Thank you,' and raced away with a trophy.

Bowles took advantage of Steve Park's bobble on a restart to grab the lead with two laps remaining and stayed in front to win the Jimmie Johnson Foundation 150 at Phoenix International Raceway.

The Camping World Series-West race shared the weekend with NASCAR's Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup stars. Goodyear is the exclusive tire supplier for each series.

Bowles' win was his seventh in Camping World Series-West competition and his first this season. It was also his first win on the Phoenix mile. Bowles averaged 80.212 mph over the 151-lap distance.

Eric Holmes finished second, followed by Park. Mike David, who started 16th, finished fourth and pole-sitter Greg Pursley finished fifth. Pursley's pole-winning lap averaged 129.571 mph, a series record at Phoenix.

The race saw nine lead changes. There were 33 starters.
