Las Vegas...Ready to take another jump forward in the point standings, Scott Lynch heads for Bakersfield, California and the next to the last round of the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series, Sunday, October 17 at Mesa Marin Raceway.
"We fully intend to put our 08 Yerf-Dog/Orleans Dodge in one the top positions," says Lynch with firm conviction. "We have so far this season earned two wins and five top five finishes. Last weekend, we got hit from behind on the next to the last lap and were aced out of another top three finish. We don't intend to let that happen again. Our goal is to end the season in the top three. We are just 53 points out of third and with two races to go, we know we can get there."
No newcomer to Mesa Marin's fast-paced .5-mile oval, Lynch earned a third place finish there earlier this year and took home a fourth the year before. "It's really a fun track," he says. 'You can run both high and low and that makes for great passing and lots of wheel-to-wheel action. However, you really have to concentrate, because with all the bumping and banging that goes on, you can't afford to make a mistake. You definitely have to practice patience and be ready to instantly make a move when the opportunity presents itself. You have to be careful though because making even a little a mistake can definitely ruin your day."
Running 150 Laps for a total of 75 miles, competitors will qualify for the StarNursery.com 150 ON Sunday at 11:20 AM with racing action getting underway at 2:00 PM.
"We are ready," sums up Lynch. "Our Yerf-Dog/Orleans Dodge is ready and our Kroyer Racing Engine is ready. Our game plan is to go for a front qualifying spot and go for the lead. We tested recently and we know we have everything in place. All we need is the Green Flag to signal the start and we will be on our way."
