SCOTT AND JIM LYNCH PENALIZED FOR NASCAR GRAND NATIONAL DIVISION, WEST SERIES RULE VIOLATIONS AT MESA MARIN

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 20, 2005) - NASCAR announced today that NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series driver Scott Lynch has been penalized because of rule violations that occurred Oct. 16 at Mesa Marin Raceway in Bakersfield, Calif.

Lynch was fined $1,000 and docked 25 West Series championship driver points. Lynch was penalized under section 12-4-A of the 2005 NASCAR Rule Book: actions detrimental to stock car racing; driving through the pit area in an unsafe manner. Lynch was also placed on probation until Dec. 31.

Car owner Jim Lynch was also penalized for the actions of his team's driver. Jim Lynch was penalized 25 West Series championship car owner points.
