No. 20 Toyota team wins third race of the season
Antelope, CA--Eric Holmes continues to lead the field in the race for the 2010 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship. He heads next to Colorado National Speedway with a 79 point lead after taking the No. 20 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry from Bill McAnally Racing to victory by winning the inaugural West race at Montana Raceway Park before a sold-out crowd.
"I really enjoyed coming to Montana Raceway Park," said the race winner. "The multi-groove track made it exciting for the fans and fun for us to race on."
"I am really glad our NAPA Toyota Camry won this inaugural race. This makes my vacation a lot more enjoyable. After struggling a bit in practice, my crew chief Matt Goslant and I made some decisions and some changes to the car that was crucial to our victory."
Holmes qualified on the inside of row four. At lap four, the NAPA Toyota was on the board running in the top-five. At lap 33, Holmes moved into fourth and five laps later; moved into the top-three and then into second at lap 45. After a double-file restart at lap 112, Holmes would go door to door with David Mayhew and move into the lead a lap later. He retained the lead thru the restart at lap 124 to go to win the race.
"I'm look forward to next week in Denver. I've had a few wins there and I'm looking for another. I can't wait to give our huge group of NAPA fans a good show!"
This was the third win of the season for the NAPA team from BMR and the second win of five Toyota/NAPA Bonus Challenge races.
The next race will be in Docono, Colorado on August 14th.
