BOWLES WINS CAMPING WORLD SERIES WEST RACE AT IRWINDALE

IRWINDALE, Calif. (July 7, 2008) -- Jason Bowles was the man to beat in the California Highway Patrol 200 at Irwindale Speedway and nobody beat him.

Bowles won the race for the NASCAR Camping World Series West event after starting on the pole, leading the first two laps and then leading the final 72. The victory vaulted Bowles into the thick of the race for the series championship and it clinched a spot in NASCAR's post-season all-star race at Irwindale.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the Camping World Series East and West classes, as well as the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The three series use the same line of bias-ply tires, which means the competitors all get the same dependable Goodyear performance.

Eric Holmes finished second in the race, nearly a second behind the winner. Johnny Borneman was third, followed by Jeff Barkshire and Jim Inglebright.

Bowles won the pole with a qualifying lap averaging 96.634 mph. He averaged 73.424 mph over the 200-lap chase around Irwindale's banked half-mile oval. Holmes continues to lead the standings with 1,141 points. Mike David is second with 1,099 and Bowles is third with 1,090.

There were 31 starters at Irwindale, representing eight states and two nations.
