NO. 16 NASCAR CAMPING WORLD SERIES WEST CREW CHIEF PENALIZED FOR RULES VIOLATIONS AT MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 13, 2008) - NASCAR has penalized Duane Knorr, crew chief of the No. 16 team that competes in the NASCAR Camping World Series West, as a result of rules infractions found Saturday, Aug. 2 at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.

The No. 16 car driven by Moses Smith was found to be in violation of Sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-Q (car, car parts, components and/or equipment used do not conform to NASCAR rules); and 20C-4.1B(2) (unapproved header collector modification: must remain as supplied by the NASCAR-approved supplier) of the 2008 NASCAR rule book. The violations were discovered during post race inspection on Aug. 2.

As a result, Knorr has been fined $1,000, suspended from the next NASCAR Camping World Series West event, suspended from NASCAR until Aug. 20, 2008, and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31, 2008. For more information, contact:
