Tony George Statement on Hendrick Motorsports tragedy

INDIANAPOLIS, Monday, Oct. 25, 2004 -- A statement from Tony George, president and chief executive officer of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, about the tragic crash of a Hendrick Motorsports plane Oct. 24 near Martinsville, Va., in which all 10 people on board lost their lives. Hendrick has won the Brickyard 400 four times at IMS with driver Jeff Gordon:

"At moments like this, it is difficult to adequately express the deep sense of loss so many friends and families are feeling. Times of reflection for me in the near future will be full of prayer for Rick Hendrick, his family and his entire organization. We can take comfort, though, in knowing that the 10 souls that were taken yesterday made our lives richer for having known them, and we should always hold dear their memory."
