Raudman Wins Southwest Series Title

Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring: John Zaretske, a regular on the Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series, won the Albertsons/OSCO Drug 125 at Phoenix International Raceway, but Southwest Series star Craig Raudman celebrated as well.

Goodyear is the sole tire supplier for this Series.

Raudman finished 30th in the race and clinched the 2001 Series championship. It was the first Series title for Raudman, who has competed on the Series off and on since 1987.

Zaretske took advantage of eight cautions to carve his way through the field after starting in the back. He averaged 76.988 mph for the 125-lap chase around the mile oval.

Eddy McKean finished second, just .107 of a second behind the winner. Winston Cup star Ken Schrader was third, Ken Kaltschmidt took fourth and Jeff Jefferson came in fifth.
