Raudman Returns to Southwest Series This Weekend

REDDING, CALIF. (August 4, 2005) Craig Raudman, the 2001 NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southwest Series champion, will return to competition this weekend for round eleven of the 14-race championship series as the best of the West roll into Irwindale Speedway located just East of Los Angeles. Raudman has scored five top two finishes at Irwindale Speedway including one win. He is ready to return to victory lane Saturday night.

Over the winter Raudman moved his family from Bakersfield to Redding, Calif. where he grew up and raced as a youngster. He purchased a pipe and hose fitting business and set his sights on rebuilding a winning team.

"It has been tough to be away," Raudman said. "I have really missed being at the track and around my friends. This series is so much fun and I wish I was in the middle of the points battle. But this weekend is all about winning with no pressure. I have been smiling all week and can't wait to get to the track."

Raudman will carry sponsorship on his Chevrolet from Power Automotive Group, the largest automotive retailer of new and used cars in the United States.

Raudman will also reunite with his former championship car Dave Reed in a partnership that will hopefully bring the former series champion back to the series full-time in 2006. Dave Reed, Dan Smith, and Craig Raudman make up the new RSR Motorsports team. Raudman also welcomes ERC Fuels, Red Line Oil, and Davidson Equipment as associate sponsors.

Raudman and his team have also worked with Ryan's Reach to raise money for individuals who have suffered brain injuries. This spring Raudman and his team conducted an auction and worked with Ryan Corbin's family and grandfather Pat Boone to bring awareness and support of individuals and families dealing with brain injuries.
