The Star Motor Sports team announced Monday the decision to leave the racing industry.

Star Motor Sports, owned by John R. Beale, fielded the #51 Chevrolet for Brian Hoppe in the NASCAR Elite Series & other super late model events. "Brian Hoppe worked hard for us on and off the track. Our crew chief, Joe Wood, and all of the crew who worked on the team contributed endlessly and I am proud of their efforts. We have been together a long time and have shared many great memories" said Beale.

The team's primary sponsor for the last five years was Gildan Activewear. "Gildan Activewear was very supportive and I appreciate everything they have done over the years. All of our associate sponsors have also been very supportive, and I want to thank them as well," continued Beale.

Brian Hoppe has no definite plans for the upcoming season but he does hope to stay behind the wheel. "I hope to have discussions with a few team owners about driving for them," Hoppe stated. "Either way, I plan to stay in motor sports in some capacity."
