ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA - Saturday night's Fright Night scheduled of events at St. Augustine Speedway sponsored by Prosperity Bank had to be postponed by track officials due to a persistent rain that began falling just before 6 PM. With the exception of the three hurricanes that threatened the first coast this year, the rainout marks the first time the racing program at the Speedway had to be canceled because of weather. "We've been extremely lucky this year as far as rain cancellations," said Speedway General Manager Louis Smith. "So I guess we can't complain too much, it's just unfortunate timing since this was the last scheduled show for our regular competitors." At the time of this release no makeup date had been announced but further announcements will be forthcoming. Better weather conditions are on order for next Saturday's Lucas Oil 250 for the Hooters Pro Cup Series. Grandstand gates are scheduled to open at 12 noon for that event.
