SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (June 3, 2003)-- Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway will welcome another former track champion June 7 when Mike Buffkin returns to compete. Buffkin and the rest of the Late Model field will compete in twin 110s in Dodge Night presented by Berryman Products. The Sheetz Limited Sportsman division will also run for 50 laps, and the Pure Stocks will race for 30 circuits.

Buffkin, who hails from Yorktown, Va., will compete in an entry fielded by Sugar Hill Racing and car owner Ted Davis. Buffkin entered his famous No. 84 in a few races in 2002. He will return to the site of his 1991 track crown, and try to add to his five victories at South Boston. Since Buffkin's title, the track has been reconfigured from .357-mile to its present four-tenths mile shape.

Grandstand gates for Dodge Night presented by Berryman Products open at 5 p.m., with qualifying scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The green flag will fly at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults. Youth age 10 to 15 pay $5, and children nine and under are free. The Pepsi Racing for Kids Challenge returns for children age four to seven. Racing action for South Boston's youngest racers starts at 6 p.m.

In 2003, Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway celebrates 46 years of racing excitement and affordable family entertainment.
