So many NASCAR stars, past and present, have raced at this track with this facility being the home track of Jeff and Ward Burton, NASCAR Winston Cup drivers. There will be many new drivers competing in this event who have never raced at this track. Freddie Query wasted little time in 1998 dominating the race. Starting from the outside front row position, he took the lead on lap one and led the entire 200 laps with Billy Bigley Jr. in hot pursuit the entire race after starting third on the grid. Bud Pole winner Derrick Gilchrist exited the event on lap seven when the engine in his car expired. <pre> 2000 Top 10 At Stats: 200-Lap Race South Boston Speedway Bud Pole: Jeff Fultz 1.
