SOUTH BOSTON, VA (DEC.12, 2002)--Six national touring series will make a return visit to Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway during the 2003 season, Speedway officials announced Dec. 12, with a new All Star race being added to the schedule.
April 12, the eve of the spring NASCAR Winston Cup race at the Martinsville Speedway, will feature the NASCAR All Star 150, in which Winston Cup celebrities will go head-to-head against South Boston's grueling oval. South Boston's Limited Sportsman division will also race for 120 laps, their biggest race ever. May 31 marks the first touring event of the season, with the NASCAR All Pro Series 150. South Boston's Late Model Stock and Limited Sportsman divisions will also compete that night. The NASCAR Goody's Dash Series stops in June 14 with a 150-lap doubleheader: 150 laps for the Goody's Dash Series and 150 circuits for the South Boston Late Models. South Boston continues an Independence Day tradition with the July 2 ARCA 300 with Ken Schrader. The popular USAR Hooter's Pro Cup Series visits on Aug. 2 for a 250-lap event. The third running of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series 250 will be held Oct. 4. The open wheel wizards of the USAC Midget series return for their third trip to South Boston Oct. 18.
Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway's 2003 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge schedule has already been released, with the season beginning March 15 and ending Nov. 15.
