While the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series waits for the playoffs to get started in September, six drivers from the European NASCAR Championship will race in the USA this summer with the help of the Series organization, confirming more and more the NWES as the channel for European drivers to race NASCAR in the USA.

Two-time Euro NASCAR Champion Ander Vilarino (in photo above) will collect the prize for his 2013 ELITE 1 Championship by racing in the K&N Pro Series at Watkins Glen in the Bully Hill Vineyards 125 on Friday, August 8th. The race will take place in the same weekend of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event and the Spaniard will be at the wheel of the #12 car that sat the pole on the 2.454-mile historic road course in 2008, when the Series raced at the Glen for the penultimate time.

Frederic Gabillon, second in the 2013 ELITE 1 division standings and winner of the last regular season race at the Nurbugring, will be his rival’s teammate for the occasion, racing the #86 car. They will both rely on New York State based Troy Williams Racing’s vast experience of the track to look for a top-10 finish and possibly something better.

Off to the 'Madhouse'

Anthony Gandon, however, will be the first NWES driver to race in the US this summer, when he will compete in the Modified division at the legendary Bowman Gray Stadium on Friday, August 1st, as a prize for his 2013 ELITE 2 Championship. Challenger Trophy winner Guillaume Rousseau will do the same on Saturday, August 9th.

They will be joined at the quarter-mile track also famous as the “Madhouse” by two members of the NWES young drivers development program: French 16-year-old Ulysse Delsaux and Belgian 15-year-old Guillaume Deflandre. Both will race at Bowman Gray Stadium in the Stadium, Street and Sportsman divisions on August 1st, 2nd and 9th to gain NASCAR experience and bring home a good result.

It will definitely be a hot summer for these six Euro NASCAR drivers, but they are ready to prove themselves on the American stage.
