CJF Racing Starts "Racing to Success" School Program

The CJF Racing team has started a program in Polk County Florida schools for students who try the hardest.

Named "Racing to Success" the program is designed to recognize the student who tries the hardest. "It doesn't matter if he or she gets D's or C's as long as they try. It doesn't matter if they improve or not, as long as they try. They are there all the time, do what they are supposed to do and they try. That's what this program is all about, " Moe Sawyer, President of CJF Racing says, continuing, "Every time the students get their report cards, the principle sends the paperwork to Bartow, and tells us which students get t-shirts from CJF Racing."

Two students from each grade sixth through eighth at the Rochelle School of the Arts are selected. Chris Fontaine, NASCAR All Pro and Busch driver, will present the t-shirts to two students from each grade.

At the end of the year, one student is selected from the winners by the teachers to receive a trophy from Chris. In addition, the team will take the child and his parents to a race.

Currently, the Rochelle School of the Arts in Lakeland is participating in the program.

Sixth, seventh and eighth graders are eligible to participate. The team plans to expand the program in future years to include more schools.

"It might go all over the state, and might be picked up nationwide," Moe said.
