THE RACE: The Jasper Engines & Transmissions 200 is the eighth race on the 17-race 2000 Slim Jim All Pro Series, NASCAR Touring schedule. This race will represent the first time since 1996 that the series will race in the state of Alabama. It's been even longer since the series has raced at this speedway, the last time was in 1994.

NOTES OF INTEREST From 1991 through 1994 five series races were contested at Montgomery. Jason Keller, Clay Brown and Hal Goodson each won one race while Mike Cope won two.
Of today's current roster of Slim Jim All Pro Series drivers, only 2000 points leader Billy Bigley, Jr. has registered a top five finish at Montgomery. The Naples, Fla. driver has earned a second, two thirds and one fourth place finish. This could make for a long night for his competitors on Saturday.
This race is the first of four consecutive races over the next four weekends. Following Montgomery the series will race at Louisville (Ky.) Motor Speedway, Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Speedway and Caraway (N.C.) Speedway.
STAT OF THE WEEK: Having never before secured a top five finish in Slim Jim All Pro Series competition, Mishawaka, Ind.'s Ken Weaver has three top five finishes in the last three races.
