NASCAR Autozone Elite Division, Southeast Series Event At Lanier Postponed To Friday, July 2

BRASELTON, Ga. (July 1, 2004) -- The one element that is totally out of the control of both drivers and teams in racing can be summed up in two words -- Mother Nature. That was the case on Thursday night at Lanier National Speedway as the Firecracker 150 was rescheduled for Friday night, July 2 because of heavy rain showers that postponed the return visit of the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southeast Series.

The inclement weather will push the race's start until Friday night at 8 p.m. Sharpsburg, Ga. driver Allen Karnes will start the Firecracker 150 from the pole position alongside second-place starter Jeff Fultz. Bud Pole qualifying was completed Thursday afternoon with Erik Darnell capturing the pole at a speed of 95.352 mph before the Top-10 starters were inverted. Fans that purchased a ticket for Thursday night's race can use their ticket stubs for entry Friday night.
