Race Fans Get a Chance to Drive a NASCAR Stock Car at 3RD Annual Ralphs Race Fest

Ralphs Grocery Company invites race fans of all ages to meet some of NASCARis biggest stars at the 3rd annual Ralphs Race Fest on Thursday, April 26 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale CA. Race Fans can get a driveris eye view of their race cars, take a ride in a NASCAR racing simulator and best of all, enter to win a turn behind the wheel of a NASCAR late model Stock Car around the 1/2 -mile Irwindale Speedway.

One of the highlights of this yearis event is the Tide Racing Adventure. Race fans can enter to win at the Tide Racing booth during the event. There will be 20 lucky winners of a driving program that consists of an orientation session and 10 laps at speed in the driversi seat of a NASCAR late model stock car. Thirty other winners will win a ride in one of the race cars around the 1/2 mile oval of Irwindale Speedway. The driving and riding programs will take place during the Race Fest. The Chevrolet Monte Carlos are being prepared by the Race Training Centers Driving School at the Speedway.

Also, as in previous years, top NASCAR drivers are scheduled to appear at Ralphs Race Fest. There will be two autograph session times, 5-7 pm and 6-8 pm. Drivers scheduled to appear from 5 - 7 pm include two-time Winston Cup Champion Terry Labonte, John Andretti, Shawna Robinson, Ricky Craven, Hut Stricklin, Jay Sauter and Ralphs-sponsored driver Brett Bodine. Drivers scheduled to appear from 6 - 8 pm include Matt Kenseth, Rich Bickle, and Mark Reed.

Kingsford Charcoal will have the Max Trax Radio Controlled Superspeedway at the event. This is a scaled version of a NASCAR Superspeedway, complete with grandstands and cars painted like the favorites of NASCAR. Fans will race against 5 other competitors for prizes.

Fans will have an opportunity to take pictures with show cars on display and demonstrate their driving prowess in the racing simulators, (a computerized NASCAR stock car). Participating NASCAR sponsors will showcase their products, offering free samples, contests, and prize giveaways. KFRG radio, 95.1 FM, will broadcast live from the event; holding contests and awarding prizes throughout the day.

Race fans can get free admission to this year's event by showing their Ralphs Club Card at the Irwindale Speedway admission gate. There will be a Ralphs Club Card sign-up at the gate for those who may not already have one. Parking is free.
