Portland Speedway officials are pleased to announce the 2001 racing schedule. The schedule boasts thirty-five race dates highlighted by three (3) events featuring the Outlaw Late Models, three (3) visits by the hy-per-lube Northern Sprint Tour, and the return of the "Greatest Show on Dirt', the Pennzoil World of Outlaws for their second trip to the historic half-mile. Baxter Auto Parts and Auto Value will again sponsor the two-day WoO event August 24-25.
The Grand American Modifieds will make their return to the speedway as the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series feature division after a three absence, also new in 2001 will be the debut of the Women's Auto Racing division. Returning on alternating NASCAR Friday's will be the Sportsman, Street Stock, Bump-to-Pass Bombers, and Figure 8 cars.
