TROY TRAMELL TAKES NASCAR AUTOZONE ELITE DIVISION, NORTHWEST SERIES BUD POLE AWARD

YAKIMA, Wash. (July 23, 2005) -- Troy Tramell won the Bud Pole Award for the Magic Metals 125 at Yakima (Wash.) Speedway in the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series. He patrolled the 1/2-mile in 19.056 seconds (94.458 mph).

It was Tramell's first pole of the season and the first of his Northwest Series career. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year Award candidate, from Yakima, is making just his fourth career start in the Northwest Series.

"This is really a thrill," said Tramell. "A lot of guys race a long time before getting one of these. It's just a big thrill."

Pete Harding, Jeff Jefferson, Brandon Riehl and Garrett Evans rounded out the top five qualifiers.

The 24-car field is expected to take the green flag at approximately 9:05 p.m. PDT.
