DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 30, 2003) -- Jeff Strunk of Bethel, Pa., has stretched his lead in the New England Region of the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series.

Strunk notched his second win of the year last weekend at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa. He leads the regional rankings with a Competition Performance Index of .7955.

While Jeff Malave, of Manchester, Conn., continues to hold second, other spots in the top 10 of the rankings were scrambled this week. Scott Bonney of North Chemlsford, Maine, moved up two spots to third, but the biggest gainers for the week were Ed Reed Jr., of Waterford, Conn., and Matthew Dewey of Seekonk, Maine. A victory by Reed at Waterford Speedbowl propelled him into the top 10 from 13th to sixth. Dewey, meanwhile, jumped from 15th to eighth.

Eight weeks of competition in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series remain before the eight regional championships are decided after the weekend of Sept. 21.
