NASCAR extends its partnership with K&N Filters

Riverside, Calif.-based company to continue as entitlement sponsor of NASCAR K&N Pro Series through 2021.

FONTANA, Calif. – NASCAR announced its continued support from Riverside-based K&N Filters as the entitlement sponsor for the Pro Series for the next 12 seasons.

The K&N Pro Series – which features East and West divisions – has become the consummate development tour for young racers looking to sharpen their skills before taking the next step in NASCAR

“The NASCAR K&N Pro Series features the most competitive regional racing in the country and thanks to this newly signed agreement the series has never been healthier,” said Jim Cassidy, NASCAR Senior Vice President of Racing Operations. “K&N Filters has the unique ability to showcase its products to a fiercely brand-loyal fan base on a national stage, while partnering with NASCAR to introduce professional motorsports’ stars of tomorrow.”

The K&N Pro Series West was a stepping stone for current Sprint Cup Champion Kevin Harvick, who won that series title in 1998, former NASCAR truck series director Chad Little, who won the 1987 championship, and drivers and crew chiefs which have taken on any number of roles such as Ron Hornaday Jr., David Gilliland, Joe Garone, Rick Carelli, Brendan Gaughan and Ernie Cope.

While the K&N Pro Series East’s roots do not run as deep, NASCAR notables such as ESPN analyst and former Cup driver Ricky Craven won the tour’s title in 1991 followed by current standouts Joey Logano (2007) and Kyle Larson (2012). Current XFINITY Series champion Chase Elliott raced for two years on the tour before moving up the ladder to trucks.

“K&N Filters has played an integral role in NASCAR for years and we’re thrilled to renew our commitment to the sport and specifically as the title sponsor of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series,” said Jesse Spungin, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, K&N Filters. “Our ability to leverage the power of NASCAR’s intellectual property on and off the track while cultivating the sport’s rising stars across the country elevates our brand and drives our business.”
